Welcome to our class page
This year our topics have been based on World War 1, Extreme Earth and how our world is extremely resourceful and Authors and Illustrators.
Our class trip to the Silver Mountain to investigate rocks underground was excellent, we panned for gold, found lots of shiny stones and loved playing in the woods.
We care a lot about the world and all the creatures in it, currently very excitedly waiting for our Elephant Hawk Moth to erupt. As part of our Extreme Earth topic we planted a wild flower meadow on the field, tasted international honey and made animations about our bee stories. Learned about the parts of plants, the process of photosynthesis and sketched trees and reflected their root systems by tracing. Along with pressing Daffodils and preserving them in resin coasters.
Our new topic for the Summer is authors and illustrators. We love to read and improve our skills in our new class library!
So far this term we have enjoyed a trip to the library, an author and illustrator workshop with book signing and a visit from a local journalist. Tom Feltcher has become one of our favourite authors of ours after reading ‘The Christmasaurus and the Naughty List’ as our class book over the festive period, we are focusing our author research around him and what inspired him to write. We are reviewing his books and learning a few McFly songs.
We do lots of maths; symmetry, time and enjoy Minecraft maths.
We make yummy treats to sell in school to save and raise money to improve our class.
Last term we earned treat afternoons using our class reward chute, having a games afternoon as well as a movie, hot chocolate and popcorn afternoon. At the moment we are aiming high, for the top reward of a class trip.
Our learning is always so much fun!

Womens Football - 6th October 2022
On Thursday 6th October pupils from Llanbister travelled to Cardiff to watch Wales play against Bosnia in Cardiff city stadium. This was a new experience for many of our pupils. It was the first outing for our school flags, and we even got them signed by the manager Gemma Grainger and goalkeeper Laura o'Sullivan.
